Open Your Eyes

Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind." John 9:39 (NIV)

Who is Jesus referring to when He speaks of the blind? He is talking about the person who is "spiritually blind." Jesus is saying that blindness (stupidity) is the only excuse they have that can excuse their behavior. Those in the story that claimed they could "see" were not given "sight" by Jesus because they were being stubborn and not accepting Jesus' teaching. However, those that were spiritually blind and opened their eyes to Him were given spiritual insight and understanding.

So what does this mean to you? As Christ followers, you must remove the spiritual blinders and recognize how sin has blinded you from knowing the truth that is Jesus Christ. If you do this, Jesus will give you "spiritual sight." However, if you don't do this, Jesus will reject you until you recognize that sin has blinded you.

When you turn your life to Christ, you see Him differently. You see Him as your Savior! As your Christian walk grows, your relationship and understanding with Jesus will grow. The best way to get to know Jesus better is to keep trusting in Him every day.

Until next time...
