God's Plan vs. Jeremy's Plan

God’s plan for our life has been set in stone since before we were born. He knew everything that would go on in our lives and that’s a fact (Jeremiah 1:5). God knows everything about us and everything that will happen with us. A couple months ago I wrote a post saying that I felt called to plant a church in North Dakota. I still have that on my heart but God has different plans right now; He wants to use me in a different way. I have prayed and prayed about this change of plans and I know that it’s God’s timing and decision. After all, one plants a church as an associate of God’s. There may be a time down the road where a church plant may be in my future but it’s not now and that’s okay. After finally stepping foot on the frozen ground of Minot, North Dakota, I realized that there is a different need here.

Minot has plenty of churches but what they don’t have is an abundance of pastors to lead those churches. I am now actively seeking a position as a bi-vocational pastor at one of the Southern Baptist [Convention] churches in Minot. I have formally applied and submitted my name for consideration for one church, North Hill Baptist Church, and am now eagerly waiting to hear back from them. I prayed about this continuously (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and realize that this is what God is calling me to do right now.

I’m excited to see what’s in store for us here in Minot and I look forward to, if it’s God’s will, to lead a church in the area. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it is our job as Christ followers to make Christ followers. That is what I’ve been put on this earth for and it is what I am actively seeking to do in a more public setting. I ask for your continued prayers as I work to fulfill God’s calling on my life.

I have posted my resume on my website and you can view it and forward it to others who may be seeking in a bi-vocational pastor in the Minot area. I appreciate your continued support and look forward to writing again.
